THingy THings To Do In...ITALY

Spectacular Italy needs almost no introduction and is one of the most popular   travel destinations in Europe. Italy's impact on the world can be seen all over the         country, in the beautiful artwork, crumbling ruins, and impressive palaces.

we al know the charm that Italy has and it is well know for its capital Rome but you can also enjoy the less crowded coastal areas where you can relax on sandy beaches and swim in limpid seas, and off course the exquisite food experience that you will have there is like no other .

so here are the best 7 thingy things to do in Italy...

   1-
Marvel at the Coliseum

You can’t come to Rome and not visit one of the most famous attractions in the world, the mighty Coliseum.

The ruins of what was once a magnificent amphitheatre are one of the greatest historical relics of our time and once it would have had a capacity of over 50,000 spectators.

The amphitheatre is most well known for the gladiator matches that would have been showcased here and you can sit in the stands and imagine the violent spectacles that used to be performed here for the enjoyment of the crowds.

   2. Go on a pilgrimage to the

Vatican

Although Vatican City is technically its own country inside Italy, visitors must first go to Rome to access this landlocked region.

If you're in the area, you should surely stop by one of the world's most important religious sites, which includes powerhouses like the Piazza San Pietro and St Peter's Basilica.

The Vatican Palace, as well as the Sistine Chapel, which houses the Creation of Adam, are also worth seeing.

   3. Discover the Roman Forum

The Roman Forum, located between the Capitoline and Palatine hills in Rome, is another of Italy's major tourist sites.

This would once have been the centre of the mighty Roman Empire and you can take in the beautiful complex here as well as enjoy views from the terraces all over the wider city.

The Roman Forum (Forum Romanum) originated as a marketplace but evolved into the city's economic, political, and religious centre, as well as its town square and centre. The Forum Romanum was surrounded by ridges connecting the Capitoline Hill to the Quirinal and the Palatine Hill to the Esquiline.

   4. Take a boat trip to the Blue Grotto

One of the premium sights is the Blue Grotto, also known as the Grotta Azzurra which is located in a city in Italy called Capri which is from the most beautiful cities in the world.

The grotto is the result of a cavern which is filled with water that glows a luminescent blue when the sun hits it through shafts in the sides of the rock .The cavern itself rises to 14 meters in height in some parts and is around 60 meters long, and you can take in this amazing light show from a rowing boat inside the grotto which makes for one of the most memorable sightseeing experiences in all of Italy.

   5. Climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Pisa is an architectural anomaly, as it began to fall into the marshy terrain underneath it as soon as it was built.

This gave the tower its distinctive crooked posture, and it has been open and closed to the public at various times throughout its history as architects assess whether it is safe to visit.

When the tower is open, visitors can climb to the top and admire Pisa from the viewing platform.

   6. Throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain

No trip to Rome is complete without a trip to the Trevi Fountain, and in fact if you want to return here then it is considered an absolute necessity.

Local legend has it that anyone who tosses a coin into the fountain will get good luck that will mean that they will one day return to this great city.

The fountain is carved in the Baroque style and is made of glittering marble which is lit up at night to spectacular effect.

   7. Climb Stromboli

If you visit Sicily, you must climb at least part of Stromboli, a still active volcano

If you are looking for an easy trek then you can walk 400 meters up the sides of Stromboli by yourself, although if you want to continue on to the crater which still billows clouds of ash and fire then you will need a certified guide to take you.

The climb to the summit takes around 3 hours, and the descend takes about 2 hours, so plan on a five to six hour walk to see everything.
